Ethical Approaches Of Human Resource Manager †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Questions: 1.What issues are of concern in this given scenario? 2.Steps to be taken for dealing with the issues Answers: 1. It is to be mentioned that in this given scenario the primary issue that has been recognized is whether to appoint Ichabod Jordan upon the advice of the George Halas, the vice president of Sales of ABC inc. It is to be stated that Ichabod Jordan works for the rival company of ABC inc, DEF inc and wants to work for ABC inc and wants to take over the sales of the U.S market. He has agreed to join for $200,000 a year. It is to be assessed as a HR manager, whether this would be beneficial to the company and whether it would be ethically correct to replace Katie Lambert as the head of the U.S sales of ABC inc. 2. It can be stated that the actions of HR must be in reliance with the highest ethical standards. It is to be stated that short terms goals of an organization can be achieved by cut throat tactics however, in the long run a business will survive if good standards of conduct are maintained (Armstrong, Taylor, 2014). In this scenario it can be stated that employing Ichabod as the head of U.S sales will be beneficial for the business however if Ichabod is placed as the head of the U.S sales, it might have a negative effect on Katie Lambert as she will be replaced from her position. However, it will reduce the responsibility of Katie and will increase the sales of the company. Therefore it can be stated that replacing Katie without any valid grounds would be unethical. Therefore if Ichabod is to be employed the terms of his employment must be renegotiated. Bibliography Armstrong, M., Taylor, S. (2014).Armstrong's handbook of human resource management practice.
